District 63 board approves appointments

The East Maine School District 63 board Thursday approved the appointments of Jennifer Pacheco as the district's Director of Special Services, Angela Maki as the principal of Melzer Elementary School in Morton Grove and Stephan Henning as the assistant principal at Apollo Elementary School in Des Plaines.

Pacheco, Melzer's principal since 2016, began her career as a special education resource teacher at West Aurora School District 129 and joined the district in 2006 at Apollo, rising to other positions.

Maki, assistant principal at Apollo since 2017, came from a similar position at an elementary school in Wauconda Community Unit School District 118.

Henning is a 7th grade social studies teacher in Troy, Michigan.

The Des Plaines-based district includes parts of Des Plaines, Glenview, Morton Grove, Niles and Park Ridge.
