Multiple suspects in custody after shooting, car chase

A car chase followed a shooting in which a 16-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday in Aurora, and multiple people have been taken into custody.

Aurora officers responded Tuesday afternoon to reports of a shooting on the 600 block of Second Avenue, according to an Aurora Police Department news release. Officers found the teen and transported him to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Aurora officers later attempted to pull over a vehicle believed to be involved; the driver instead drove off, prompting a four-minute chase that ended near the corner of Summerhill Drive and Jericho Road in Aurora Township, according to police. Multiple suspects were taken into custody.

The shooting victim's condition was unknown as of Tuesday evening.
