Bail set at $1M for Aurora man charged with raping woman, battering pregnant teen

A 50-year-old man is being held on $1 million bail after his arrest on charges he sexually assaulted a woman and battered a pregnant teen in Aurora.

Francisco L. Manriquez, of the 700 block of West Sullivan Road, Aurora, faces four felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault/causing bodily harm, aggravated battery to a pregnant person, unlawful restraint, two counts of domestic battery and one count interfering with the reporting of domestic battery, according to Kane County court records.

The charges stem from a Feb. 5 case in which Manriquez is accused of raping the woman, pushing the pregnant 17-year-old and preventing them from calling for help.

Aurora Police Department spokesman Paris Lewbel did not respond to repeated requests for information this week.

Manriquez doesn't have any previous arrests in Kane County.

Kane County Chief Judge Clint Hull on Feb. 7 set Manriquez's bail at $1 million, meaning he must post $100,000 bond to be released while the charges are pending.

If he does post bond, he is to have no contact with the two victims in the case.

Manriquez is next due in court Wednesday and faces up to 30 years in prison and registration as a sex offender if convicted.
