Hoffman Estates installing new water meters

Hoffman Estates will soon begin the process of installing new water meters in all residential, industrial, and commercial buildings, the village announced recently.

The village has partnered with Siemens Industry, Inc., and Professional Meters, Inc. to complete the project. The new meters will allow the village to implement an automated meter reading process that will provide better customer service, greater data accuracy and reduced operational costs, officials say.

All water customers will be receiving mailings with details about the project. Siemens will be working their way through the village area-by-area over the course of the coming months. Residents will receive a postcard indicating that Siemens is moving into their neighborhood, then call a dedicated hotline at the number on the postcard to schedule an appointment.
