No serious injuries in rollover on Elgin-O'Hare Expressway

Only minor injuries were reported Thursday morning after a two-vehicle collision left a minivan flipped on its roof along the westbound Elgin-O'Hare Expressway just west of Rohlwing Road near Itasca.

Itasca Fire District officials said the accident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. and involved both the minivan that rolled over and a sedan.

The woman driving the minivan was its sole occupant and had to be freed from a seat belt that kept her suspended upside down while first responders arrived, officials said.

Both occupants of the sedan also escaped serious injury.

Elk Grove Village firefighters assisted Itasca with the emergency response. The collision was investigated by Illinois State Police, who could not be immediately reached for comment.
