Elgin man sentenced for vehicular invasion, domestic battery
A 55-year-old Elgin man who pleaded guilty to forcing his way into a woman's car, striking and threatening her was sent to prison.
Court records show Dana Green of the 1000 block of Old Creek Court pleaded guilty to unlawful vehicular invasion in exchange for a nine-year sentence. He also pleaded guilty on Monday to aggravated domestic battery strangulation in exchange for a five-year sentence. The judge ordered Deon to serve the sentences concurrently.
According to prosecutors, Green approached the woman on a September morning in 2015 as she drove away from a relative's Hoffman Estates home and forced his way into her car. They drove to a nearby park, where prosecutors say he berated and threatened her, accused her of cheating and grabbed her hair.
Green could be released after serving 4½ years in prison. He received credit for 3½ years in custody and was ordered to pay $874 in fines.
Records also show the court issued the woman an order of protection that expires in March 2034.
