Lake County looking for Adopt-A-Highway volunteers

The Lake County Division of Transportation is looking for volunteers to help pick up litter and debris along highways and bike paths.

Volunteers adopt a section of a county highway and commit to cleaning it twice a year. Safety vests and bags are provided. An Adopt-A-Highway group should have at least eight to 10 people and participants must be 10 or older. Anyone under 18 requires parental supervision.

Several sections that haven't been available for years have recently become available. Applications are due by Feb. 1. Call Keely Wells at (847) 377-7472 or visit www.lakecountyil.gov/422/Adopt-A-Highway for more information.
