New public art unveiling Nov. 23 in Grayslake

In honor of the Illinois Bicentennial, a new piece of public art by local artist Mary Haas will be unveiled at Grayslake Village Hall at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23.

Haas's art, created outside or "en plein air," won the "From Prairie to Village" public art call hosted by the village and the Grayslake Arts Alliance this summer. The final work will consist of 20 paintings celebrating Illinois and Grayslake history.

The unveiling is one of many activities the night of the Tree Lighting in Grayslake's Village Center.
