Lake Forest Civic Orchestra to perform 'Salute to Veterans' Sunday

The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra presents its second concert of the season "Salute to Veterans" Sunday, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m., in the John and Nancy Hughes Theatre at the Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Veterans and active service members can sign up for free tickets at vettix.org. In remembrance of the 100th anniversary of World War I, and celebrating the 200th anniversary of Illinois statehood, the concert highlights beloved favorites, including Copland's Lincoln Portrait and Sousa's Stars and Stripes Forever. Soprano Erika Morrison will be the featured guest performer, and the concert will be conducted by Co-Music Director Robert Nordling. Tickets are available at www.lakeforestcivicorchestra.org or at the door before the concert.
