Zombies and monsters in downtown Elgin: Must be Nightmare on Chicago Street

Downtown Elgin was taken over by zombies Saturday night during Nightmare on Chicago Street.

The event, with lead sponsor Gold Rush Gaming, included a zombie homecoming pageant, a costume contest and a safe zone.

The event included three stages of live entertainment, bands, food, drinks, vendors, cage matches in the Thunderdome, live graffiti artists, a hookah lounge and special guests including MeTV's "Svengoolie."
