Touch the Trucks event Saturday in downtown Libertyville

Cook Park Library's "Touch the Trucks" will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 20, in downtown Libertyville.

Church Street west of Milwaukee Avenue will be closed to allow the little ones to explore community service and other vehicles and meet their friendly drivers. Climb aboard a fire truck, a high-reaching cherry picker, the library's Bookmobile, an antique tractor, asphalt roller and many more.

By popular demand, the first hour will be "QUIET Touch the Trucks" with no sirens, horns, bells, whistles, or buzzers to make the event accessible to those scared or bothered by loud noises.

Pumpkin Fest also will be held simultaneously in adjacent Cook Park.
