Elk Grove, Rolling Meadows high schools hold food drive competition

The third annual Elk Grove Township Cereal Bowl III food drive competition will be held Friday night at the football games between Elk Grove and Rolling Meadows high schools.

Fans are invited to bring boxes of cereal to benefit the Elk Grove Township Food Pantry, with bragging rights and an engraved traveling trophy going to the school that brings in the most donations. In 2016, Rolling Meadows won by collecting 1,040 boxes of cereal; Elk Grove won in 2017 after collecting 952 boxes.

Township representatives will be at the main gate at Rolling Meadows High School, 2901 Central Road, to receive and tabulate donations. The freshman game begins at 4:45 p.m. and varsity at 7:30 p.m.
