Stretch of Aptakisic Road closed beginning Sept. 21
The Canadian National Railroad will be closing Aptakisic Road to through traffic from Prairie Road to Milwaukee Avenue in Buffalo Grove for crossing repairs beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21.
The Lake County Division of Transportation said the road is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Friday, Sept. 28. The project will include replacing the crossing surface, asphalt and concrete milling, and repaving and striping to improve ride quality at the crossing.
Local traffic will be allowed from Milwaukee Avenue west to Bond Street and from Prairie Road east to Weiland Road. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.
A detour will take traffic along Prairie Road to Route 22 to Milwaukee Avenue.
