Elk Grove concert series sees record attendance

Elk Grove Village's 10th annual "Unity within the Community" Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series saw a record attendance of more than 75,000 this year.

The 2018 concert series kicked off with a 4th of July Concert performed by Big & Rich with Cowboy Troy, and continued with Tuesday night evenings on the Village Green with Richard Marx, a special "2 for Tuesday" with Sister Sledge and the Village People featuring Victor Willis, and an Evening with Dionne Warwick. The concert series ended July 31 with a performance by Bret Michaels.

The concert series is free to attend, due in part to the unique partnership and support of the Elk Grove Park District, the Elk Grove Public Library, Elk Grove High School and our sponsors.

"The presence and atmosphere at the concerts has been unbelievable," Mayor Craig B. Johnson said in a news release, "It is great to see our residents and guests from throughout the region come together to enjoy an evening of first-class entertainment with their friends and neighbors."
