Electronic recycling event July 21 at Harper College

The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County is hosting an electronics-only recycling event from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, July 21, at Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine.

All vehicles looking to access the event must enter from the Euclid Avenue entrance only.

Accepted items include cameras, camcorders, answering machines, calculators, CD and DVD players, cellphones, computer cables, computer monitors, computers, desktop fax machines and printers, keyboards, microwaves, power tools and cords, satellite receivers, scanners, shredders, small home appliances (toasters, blenders, etc.), stereo equipment, landline telephones, televisions, typewriters, video game consoles, video recorders/players (no VHS tapes) and zip drives.

Items not accepted include dehumidifiers, humidifiers, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and other large home appliances.
