Parade helps close West Chicago's Railroad Days celebration

More than 50 marching entries took to the streets of West Chicago Sunday afternoon to celebrate the city's "One West Chicago" spirit of diversity and inclusion, along with the close of its four-day Railroad Days celebration.

The procession featured floats, fire engines and the West Chicago High School marching band, with many of the parade participants distributing candy to youngsters along the route in a tradition that organizers said is "like trick-or-treating without having to move." The theme of the parade was "One West Chicago, Many People, Many Cultures."

Other festival highlights Sunday included performances by Sammy and the Knights and Chicago Latin Groove.
