Palatine student art celebrates Illinois Bicentennial

Students from Palatine and Fremd high schools have created art pieces commemorating Illinois' 200th anniversary that are on display at the village's library.

The two works can been seen in the interior entrance way of both parking garages for the library at 700 N. North Court, creating impressive visual interest as visitors walk in.

Palatine High's "Welcome to the Land of Lincoln" banner was designed by National Art Honor Society students Harper Appel, Cristal Ramirez, Maggie Walsh, Alyssa Wheat and Natalie Wohlgemuth. Fremd's art club designed the banner "Illinois 200."
