Mundelein library event brings Candyland game to life

Fremont Public Library brought the famous board game Candyland to life Monday in Mundelein.

In groups of four, players acted as their own game pieces to traverse a magical land of sweet surprises in a life-size version of the famous family game.

Children's librarian Shelby Garrett hopes the experience is a bonding moment for families.

"A lot of the interactions are intergenerational," Garrett said.

Kids collected candy along they way at various stops.

This is the second time the library has held the event.
