Chicago man killed in I-290 crash in DuPage County

A Chicago man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 290 Sunday evening in DuPage County, authorities said.

Anthony Jarvis, 21, was killed when he lost control of his 2001 Ford in the westbound lanes at about 6:48 p.m. near Wood Dale Road, according to Illinois State Police. The vehicle rolled several times and came to a stop on top of the guard rail.

State police tweeted about 7:30 p.m. saying all westbound lanes were closed. The lanes were reopened later.

Jarvis was the sole occupant in the vehicle, authorities said. His condition and additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
