Uncle Bub's collects hardware at Naperville's Ribfest

The folks at Uncle Bub's in Westmont are going to have a new task starting today: Polishing their trophies from Naperville's Ribfest.

The family-owned restaurant, which already touts its award-winning barbecue on its website, picked up two of the top trophies from Ribfest judges on Friday for Best Ribs and Best Sauce, as well as a third honor from a kids' panel that also honored Bub's for Best Ribs.

"All the money we won from this years contest is going to charity," said Mark Link, owner of Uncle Bub's BBQ. "I'm very proud because we won ribs and sauce last year, and it's awesome. I'm pretty emotional about these wins - it's a great feeling."

The judging was the highlight of the afternoon before thousands packed Knoch Park near downtown for a night of country music featuring Jake Owen, Chris Janson and Jordan Davis.

The annual celebration sponsored by the Exchange Club of Naperville wraps up Saturday.
