Northwest Fourth-Fest continues through Sunday

Attendees at the Northwest Fourth-Fest at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates could bask in nearly perfect summer weather on Friday, as heat, humidity and storms moved out of the area.

The festival continues Saturday with entertainment by the Good Clean Fun Band at 4:30 p.m., followed by The Gingers at 6:30 p.m. and Semple with sets at 8:30 and 10 p.m. In between, there will be a big fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

The festival raps up Sunday, with Rick Lindy and the Wild Ones taking the stage at 2:30 p.m., followed by Hi Infidelity at 4:30 p.m.

Also Saturday and Sunday, festival visitors can enjoy numerous family-friendly activities, including a climbing wall, a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, balloon art and a water balloon toss. The Diaper Derby is at 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by the pie-eating contest at 3:30 p.m.

There also is an arts and crafts fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
