Hanover Township seeks donations of school supplies

Hanover Township is asking the community for donations of school supplies and backpacks as it gears up for its annual Backpack Distribution for local youth in need.

Supplies can be dropped off at the following locations: Town Hall, 250 S. Route 59 in Bartlett; Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59 in Bartlett; Hanover Township Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave. in Hanover Park and Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St. in Elgin.

Distribution is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Astor Avenue Community Center. Township youth can receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. Proof of residency is required with a limit of one backpack each.
