Consultant begins Arlington Heights library director search

A consultant has begun the search for a new executive director of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.

Vernon Hills-based John Keister & Associates is being paid $19,500 to recruit candidates for the open position. The process is expected to take three to four months, from initial meetings with the library board and staff, to advertising the position and conducting interviews. Keister is expected to bring three to five top candidates to the library board, which would make a final selection.

Former director Jason Kuhl resigned last September citing personal reasons, and is now director of a library district in suburban St. Louis. Mike Driskell, the director of administration, has been serving as interim executive director.
