Works of Arlington Heights Library's artist-in-residence on display

Some 50 works of art are now on display in the Arlington Heights Memorial Library's Marketplace from children's book author and illustrator Chris Raschka, who will be at the library later this month as the summer artist-in-residence.

The free exhibit, Bravo! Chris Raschka, features watercolor, pastel and charcoal pencil artwork of bright colors, free-form shapes and childlike characters. It runs through Aug. 12.

Raschka, author of more than 60 books and a two-time Caldecott Medal winner, will be at the library June 27-30 for bookmaking workshops for kids and adults, live art demonstrations, storytime, an artist talk and book signings. His residency is being supported by the Friends of the Library.
