Taste of Des Plaines turns up the heat

The weather was hot, but that didn't deter suburbanites from flocking to the Taste of Des Plaines Saturday.

Festgoers roamed the downtown event throughout the day to sample dishes from local restaurant and enjoy entertainment set up on two stages. Samples were provided from local restaurants like Rivers Casino, Charcoal Delights, Mariachi's Tacos, Tiki Terrace, Mexico Restaurant, Adreani's Pizzeria and Pasta, Rosati's Pizza and Sunrise Grill. Family entertainment ranged from JG Reptile Show and the Barefoot Hawaiian dancers band from American English to Rosie and the Rivets.
