Aurora teen charged in two car burglaries

A 17-year-old Aurora boy was charged with two counts of burglary Saturday after police said he and three others were seen looking for unlocked vehicles to burglarize in the Alschuler subdivision.

Police said they arrived around 2 a.m. and all four suspects took off running, Three of them, the boy and two girls ages 14 and 15, were taken into custody. A fourth suspect still is at large, but police said they believe they know his identity.

The 17-year-old was charged with burglary after he was found with the proceeds from two burglaries on the 200 block of Alschuler. The girls were cited with curfew violations. All three were released to their parents.

Police praised residents for calling 911 to report the suspicious activity. They also urged residents to lock their vehicles.
