8 cited for selling alcohol to underage people in Lake County
Eight employees of Lake County stores have been ticketed for selling alcohol to minors, authorities said in a news release Friday.
The clerks and establishments in violation are:
•Abid Hussain, 61, Citgo Gas, 27161 West Grass Lake Road, Antioch.
•Cameron J. Zwicke, 39, Cardinal Wine & Liquor, 39172 North Sheridan Road, Beach Park.
•Marcos Rueda-Roman, 52, Ma & Pa's Liquors, 37737 Green Bay Road, Beach Park.
•Chris T. Das, 23, Marathon Gas, 37740 North Sheridan Road, Beach Park.
•Eryn F. Stilp, 28, Speedway Gas, 38980 North Green Bay Road, Beach Park.
•Ashley M. Schoenke, 24, Aldi, 27415 West Hartigan Road, Volo.
•Mukudkumar I Parekh, 34, Shell Gas, 41867 North Route 41, Wadsworth.
•Brian M. Hayden, 39, Quick Mart Citgo, 41490 North Route 41, Wadsworth.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office conducts alcohol compliance checks at Lake County liquor selling establishments. The compliance checks are designed to ensure businesses vending alcohol are not selling to anyone under the age of 21.
Of the 58 establishments tested, eight of them sold alcohol to someone under the age of 21, according to the news release.
The clerks in violation were ticketed for selling liquor to a minor. They are required to appear in Waukegan court. Notice of the violations were sent to the liquor commissions in Wadsworth, Beach Park, Volo, and Lake County.
