Ela Township 55+ hosts fashion show, luncheon

Ela Township 55+ hosted its second Celebration of Life Fashion Show and Luncheon on Sunday, May 20. This multifaceted event raised awareness and funding to help the fight against cancer.

The fashion show featured models who are currently fighting, or have won the fight, against cancer.

In addition to the fashion show and luncheon, guests participated in a silent auction, 50/50 split-the-pot, and had the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for various gift baskets. More than 60 gift baskets were donated from Ela 55+ members, residents and local businesses.

A total of $6,069 was raised. All proceeds were donated to Purple Plunge of Lake Zurich, which is focused on helping local families affected by cancer.

"Thank you to everyone who volunteered and contributed to making this event a fabulous success," said Susan Dillon, director of Adult and Senior Services at Ela Township.
