Rollins Road reopens after gas line incident

A portion of Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach has reopened after a contractor hit a gas line early Wednesday morning. Greg Formica, chief of the Round Lake Area Fire Protection District, said westbound Rollins Road was closed between Route 83 and Hook Drive about 7:30 a.m. after a contractor digging in the area struck the gas main. He said authorities closed the roadway for about an hour as a precaution while the gas line was repaired. No one was injured, he said.
