Buffalo Grove Police to reward youths doing good with free drinks

Buffalo Grove Police will distribute Slurpees for good deeds, constructive activities and acts of kindness to enhance their relationship with the young people of their community. In a program called Operation Chill, 7-Eleven is partnering with local police nationwide to distribute free coupons for the drink. Buffalo Grove Police will distribute 200 coupons.

"These coupons are a great way for officers who are on patrol in the community to interact with our young people," said Deputy Chief Michael Szos. "They create an icebreaker; a way to encourage dialogue in a nonthreatening, non-law enforcement interaction."
