Oak Brook cops probe overnight handbag heist at Louis Vuitton store

Oak Brook police are investigating an early morning smash-and-grab burglary at Oakbrook Center's Louis Vuitton store.

Police say just before 3:23 a.m. Tuesday three suspects drove a White GMC Terrain SUV through the store's front door, at 100 Oakbrook Center, and made off with more than $50,000 worth of handbags and luggage before officers arrived.

Crime prevention officer Garrett Church said store surveillance video shows the three suspects wearing masks and gloves as they removed the items.

He would not say what, if any, other clues the video may have provided.

Church said he expects the video will be released as detectives progress through their investigation.

Anyone who may have seen something suspicious or has information on the burglary is asked to call police at (630) 368-8700 or email crimetips@oakbrook.org.
