Des Plaines District 62 names Amadei new human resources chief
The Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 school board has appointed Michael Amadei as interim assistant superintendent for human resources, effective July 1.
Amadei currently serves as principal of Iroquois Community School, a position he has held at the year-round school for the last 10 years. He led the school through a complete renovation that modernized the site.
"Although I will miss seeing my students, their families and the excellent staff at ICS daily, I am honored to further support our district and the students at the administrative level," Amadei said in a news release about his new position.
In his new role, he will be responsible for insuring best practice with regards to personnel services and records, staffing issues, contract administration, and personnel review and appraisal. Amadei will be responsible for providing creative and dynamic leadership to direct the district's human resource needs.
"I'm excited to welcome Dr. Amadei to the central office," Superintendent Paul E. Hertel said. "Not only does he bring a wealth of school experience and leadership to the team, but he has been a valued principal at Iroquois for the past decade. Dr. Amadei's knowledge of District 62 staff, families and community will be an asset to the district."
Amadei earned his Doctor of Education degree from Western Illinois University in 2014. Prior to that he earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University in 2001. He also is pursuing a Professional Human Capital Leader in Education certification.
