Long Grove Chocolate Fest opened Friday, continues through Sunday
Visitors to Long Grove can sample a variety of chocolates and chocolate-infused cuisine this weekend at the village's popular Chocolate Fest, which marks its 20th anniversary.
The three-day festival opened Friday and continues 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in downtown Long Grove, 308 Old McHenry Road. Admission is $5 per person per day. Kids 12 and younger get in free. A three-day pass is $10.
The festival features family fun, handmade chocolates and continuous live music. Chocolate-inspired creations range from chocolate cotton candy to burgers lathered in barbecue chocolate sauce.
Besides many local restaurateurs, more than a dozen of the area's leading chocolatiers are showcasing their goods.
The Chocolate Experience Tent features hands-on chocolate demonstrations and chocolate artisans, while the new Chocolate Experience Tent offers the opportunity to personally make 15 to 30 truffles on-site with direction from The Bom Truffle company.
