74-year-old man killed, two others injured in Lisle car crash

A 74-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a two-car crash in Lisle Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

The 74-year-old man was driving his Nissan Rogue west on the 900 block of Ogden Avenue at around 1:43 p.m. when he crossed the center line and crashed into a black Acura, according to a news release on the Lisle Police Department's Facebook page. The man and the two people in the black Acura were rushed to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with serious injuries. The 74-year-old was later pronounced dead.

Two Lisle Police officers were also hospitalized because they were exposed to blood while applying tourniquets and bandages to the injured people. They were treated at Edward Hospital in Naperville and were released soon after.

Traffic was diverted from the scene for around three hours while emergency crews worked the scene.
