Palatine Township document shredding event Saturday

Palatine Township and the Palatine Lions Club are co-hosting their annual document shredding event from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine.

There is a limit of two "bankers" boxes, or paper bags that hold the equivalent amount, per vehicle. No plastic bags are allowed.

Volunteers will assist with unloading the boxes or bags of documents for shredding. Participants must stay in their vehicle for safety reasons.

"Palatine Township and the Palatine Lions Club have worked together for several years in offering this popular program," Palatine Township Supervisor Sharon Langlotz-Johnson said in a news release.

The shredding event will be held in township center parking lot. Drivers can enter only from westbound Illinois Street, just east of Quentin Road. Vehicles dropping off documents are to stay to the right side of Illinois Street, so as not to obstruct general traffic, before entering the parking lot.
