Results of Palatine police distracted driving enforcement campaign

Palatine police have released results from their most recent campaign to crack down on distracted driving. Palatine authorities said officers from April 16-30 issued 241 citations during Illinois' first distracted driving campaign. Palatine officers issued 149 electronic communication device citations and 52 for seat belt violations as part of the effort. The increased enforcement was part of the national Distracted Driving Awareness Month effort supported by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
