Waubonsie Valley staffer quits amid police investigation

A former staff member at Waubonsie Valley High School is being investigated, Aurora police confirmed Friday.

Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said authorities opened the investigation Friday and are working with Indian Prairie District 204.

On Friday, Waubonsie Valley Principal Jason Stipp wrote to parents on the school's website: "Your child may have heard rumors at school regarding a staff member. I want to let you know that there is a personnel issue that came to our attention and was immediately reported to the Aurora Police Department and DCFS."

Stipp wrote that the staff member has resigned.

"We are unable to provide any further details at this time in order to not jeopardize any pending investigation," he wrote.
