Officials: Man revived after accident at West Dundee water treatment plant

A worker whose heart stopped after an accident at a water treatment plant in West Dundee was revived by first responders, authorities said.

A public works employee at the West Dundee Water treatment facility at 800 N. Randall Rd. found the man slumped over against a wall in an electrical room and performed CPR while another employee called 911. When first responders arrived, they found the 24-year-old contractor unresponsive and in cardiac arrest, according to the release.

After performing advanced life support, EMS crews were able to revive the worker, who was taken to a hospital and later flown to OSF Saint Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford, officials said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
