Schaumburg approves 3-year contract with fire command union

Schaumburg trustees have approved a new three-year contract with the village's smallest labor union.

The Schaumburg Fire Command Association is made up of only six members - three battalion chiefs and three fire captains.

Those members will receive 2-percent raises on May 1, 2018 and May 1, 2019, and then a 2.5-percent raise on May 1, 2020.

All firefighter/paramedics below these ranks - including lieutenants - are members of the village's general firefighters union. The fire department's only sworn personnel not in either union are the chief and deputy chief.
