Man sentenced to prison in street-racing crash that killed Aurora father

A Yorkville man who pleaded guilty to street racing in a crash that killed an Aurora father was sentenced to 2½ years in prison Monday, according to the Will County state's attorney's office.

Jeffrey Bledsoe, 22, is also required to serve a year on parole after his release from prison.

Prosecutors dropped the charges of reckless homicide in exchange for the plea deal.

Bledsoe was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix in December 2015 when his actions caused another vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Charger driven by a 16-year-old, to strike the 2004 Toyota Highlander driven by Charles Siebel.

Prosecutors said the juvenile was racing with Bledsoe when the crash occurred at Eola Road and Shenandoah Drive in Aurora.

Siebel, of Aurora, was killed and his 15-year-old daughter was injured in the crash.

The teen boy was charged with one count of reckless homicide and two counts of aggravated street racing. He was sentenced to four years of probation and 250 hours of community service.
