No injuries reported in small basement fire in Bartlett home

No injuries were reported Tuesday after a small basement fire at a home on the north side of Bartlett, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Bartlett Fire Protection District.

Firefighters arrived on the 500 block of Versailles Drive around 12:19 p.m. to find light smoke billowing from the first floor of the 2-story, single-family home. After around six minutes the fire was declared under control.

Battalion Chief Ralph DeFreece said among the objects that were most damaged by the fire were two outdoor chairs that were made nearly unrecognizable by the blaze.

The home was declared habitable after the fire. It was the second Bartlett house fire in two days.
