Garage fire forces closure of Sterkle Road in North Aurora
A fire that started in a North Aurora garage caused minor damage to a house and forced fire crews to close part of a residential street Monday while they worked to put out the blaze.
Fire officials warned residents to avoid a small stretch of Sterkle Road in the Remington Landings subdivision between Western Drive and Kelly Drive while crews extinguished the blaze. The street was reopened shortly after the fire was put out Monday night.
Officials said no one was injured in the fire, which started in an attached garage of one of the homes. Fire damage was reportedly limited to the garage, but officials said there was some smoke damage to the home's interior.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, officials said.
