Prairie Crossing celebrates Earth Week

Students and staff at Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake celebrated Earth Week with environmental- and conservation-related activities and learning opportunities.

Some highlights of the week included gardening with book buddies, making a bird feeder, doing nature yoga, observing caterpillars, picking up trash and visiting with Alvin the falcon and his handler, Craig Hendee of Lake Villa.

"I would say it's definitely something we look forward to every year," said first- and second-grade teacher Christine Jeffery.

This year's theme is "We're all in it Together."
