Winners of Arts Unlimited art and writing contest

Art, poetry and fiction writing aren't talents that are supposed to fade away after high school. But adult life often intrudes.

The annual Arts Unlimited District 214/Daily Herald Community Arts and Writing Contest primarily celebrates adults in our community who, despite the pressures of adulthood, have continued to pursue their passion for the arts. Teens are allowed to enter, too.

Today, Sunday and Monday, we are proud to present the 2018 winners. Today are the first-place winners; Sunday will be the second-place winners; and third-place winners run Monday.

Come meet the artists and see all the incredible work submitted for both the Community Art and Writing Contest and the student contest. The reception will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights. Attendance is free.
