Former Palatine resident gets 45 years for forcing children into prostitution

A former Palatine man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for forcing two young girls and a young woman into prostitution.

Officials said 32-year-old Fabrieal Delaney, now of Battle Creek, Michigan, used verbal abuse, physical violence and his victims' drug addiction to maintain control over them as he forced them into prostitution, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office for the Northern District of Illinois.

Delaney, also known as "Face," began grooming the girls for prostitution when they were all younger than 16, according to the release. He posted advertisements for the girls online, rented hotel rooms for people who responded to the posts and took all the money they earned.

Officials said Delaney was taken into custody in July 2011 after federal officers staged a string operation disguised as a Tinley Park bachelor party. Delaney brought two girls and a young woman from Michigan to engage in sexual activity with as many as 12 men at the party and was arrested there.

Delaney was previously convicted by a jury on eight sex trafficking charges and was sentenced in federal court Wednesday.
