3 juveniles charged in foiled Wheaton home burglary
Three juveniles from Chicago were charged with attempted residential burglary, aggravated fleeing and eluding and possession of a stolen vehicle for their roles in a foiled late-night break-in Sunday night at a home in Wheaton, authorities said.
A fourth suspect, Gerardo Flores, 18, also of Chicago, is being held in DuPage County jail on $150,000 bail.
The three juveniles each will appear separately over the next 10 days before DuPage Judge Michael Wolfe. Flores will appear May 7 before Judge George Bakalis.
Wheaton police were called just before 7 p.m. to a report of a residential burglary in the area of 1600 East Pershing Ave., south of Roosevelt Road. A witness saw three people trying to break into a house, police said.
The would-be intruders fled, leading police on a brief car chase that ended when they crashed in the driveway of a residence on North West Street and then ran away, police said.
All four were found hiding in a shed outside a residence on Harrison Street and taken into custody, police said.
