Arlington Heights Arbor Day tree drawing contest begins

The Arlington Heights Park District is now accepting entries for its annual Arbor Day tree drawing contest, open to children in grades pre-K to 6.

Drawings can be submitted at the park district administration center or any park district community center before April 19. Winners will be selected in three age categories by park district staff. For an entry form, visit ahpd.org/events/arbor-day-celebration.

Winners will be recognized at the annual Arbor Day celebration, scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Raven Park, 2913 N. Mitchell Ave. The event includes a tree-planting ceremony and performance by the fifth grade student chorus of Poe Elementary School.
