Fire damages Arlington Heights medical supply manufacturer

Arlington Heights fire crews battled a blaze at a medical supply manufacturer on the north side of the village for hours on Tuesday.

The fire started at around 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. at the Teleflex building at 900 W. University Drive, according to Arlington Heights Fire Lt. Les East. No one was hurt but the fire inflicted serious damage to multiple floors of the building.

East said several fire agencies responded to the fire and fire crews fought the blaze by spraying water from outside and running hoses inside. He said they were on the scene for three to three and a half hours.
