Dawn Patrol: Soccer coach facing sexual assault charges fired

Police say they are following up with four more potential victims of a part-time assistant soccer coach at Vernon Hills High School who has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with three male students. Police announced Saturday Cori Beard, 28, of Vernon Hills had been charged with 12 counts of criminal sexual assault. The school board voted unanimously to fire her Monday night. Full story

Elgin woman's family stunned by I-90 shooting

Decynthia S. Clements was shot along Interstate 90 between Route 25 and Beverly Road near Elgin, officials said. Clements' brother Chevelle Clements said the family is stunned by her death and has lots of questions. "She had an outgoing spirit. She was always willing to help people," he said. "If you look at her friends on Facebook, they are all saying she's not a violent person. So why is she dead?" Full story

St. Charles school board decides to repurpose Fox Ridge Elementary

Schaumburg man reported missing

Police are searching for Roni J. Fette, a Schaumburg man who's been missing for more than a week. He was last seen in Schaumburg at the BMO Harris Bank at 590 South Roselle Road on Feb. 8 at around 1:30 p.m. Full story

Huntley man accused of video recording girl

Martin Israel Vilchis-Caralampio, 41 was charged Friday after police received a tip about two incidents in which a young girl was recorded without her knowledge, according to police. Vilchis-Caralampio was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of unauthorized video recording of a child under the age of 18, police said. Full story

Aurora man charged with selling drugs

An Aurora man faces three drug charges after police say they found cocaine, marijuana and cash in his home. Miguel A. Ramos, of the 600 block of Flagg Street, was arrested at about 4 p.m. Thursday after Aurora police officers served a search warrant at his home, police said. Inside, police said they found nearly 30 grams of cocaine, about 54 grams of marijuana and more than $4,000 in cash. Full story

Antonio Blakeney has left the G-League playoff chase to finish the NBA season with a Bulls team trying hard not to look like its trying to lose.
