Pedestrian injured in Carpentersville crash this morning

A car crash this morning involving two Dundee-Crown High School students headed to school sent one teen to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

At 7:10 a.m., a passenger vehicle heading east along Kings Road struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway at Skyline Drive, a block from the Carpentersville school. The 15-year-old male pedestrian suffered a lower leg injury and was taken to a hospital for evaluation and treatment, Carpentersville Police Chief Michael Kilbourne said.

The 16-year-old female driver, of Sleepy Hollow, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk, he added.
